Strengthening Lebanon’s Wheat Value Chain – ONGOING

BIAT serves as the Responsible Party for this UNDP-led initiative to strengthen Lebanon’s wheat value chain and improve national food security. The project supports MSMEs, cooperatives, and youth-led startups working in food processing, agricultural inputs, and wheat-related solutions. BIAT conducts outreach and selection, business diagnostics, general and individualized coaching, in-kind procurement, startup incubation, and post-support monitoring, with at least 50% of selected entities being women-led.
The initiative will shortlist at least 15 MSMEs, 15 cooperatives, and 20 startups. At least 42 entities will receive individualized coaching, while 20 youth-led startups will enter an incubation pathway beginning with a three-day hackathon. Following a competitive pitching event, 12 startups will receive grants of USD 20,000 each and tailored coaching to implement solutions supporting a more productive, innovative, and resilient wheat value chain.
