WEP Strengthening Women’s Resilience in a Time of Crisis

To date, a total of 52 COOPs, SMEs, and Start Ups in Agro (food production and processing, fruit and vegetable, honey, oregano, freekeh, dairy, small ruminats, aromatic tea), handicrafts, ICT sectors have received support through the provision of relevant training, coaching, and mentoring followed by financial in-kind grants to improve and develop their businesses and action plans. Geographically, these entities are equally divided between the 4 governorates.
UNDP intends to engage in a partnership with a suitable organization to further support these women-led small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and cooperatives to advance their products to become market-ready.
The proposed activities should aim to support a minimum of 25 COOPs, SMES, and/or Start Ups that have been supported by the project
– Classification of the different business entities
– Selection of the at least 25 beneficiaries
– Finalization of support for the selected entities
– Provision of support
Based on the assessment, the entities can focus on at least one of the below:
✓ certifications and requirements needed to help improve and advance their products to become market ready. A clear and tailored action plan will need to be developed with regular reviews in close coordination with the identified entities.
✓ one on one coaching and mentoring from experts in the field to maximize the success of the businesses, including the provision of business management coaching/mentoring, marketing support and other business advisory services as per identified needs
✓ linking the entities to commercial buyers and wholesale markets and supporting them in preparations to enter the market and in planning effective marketing strategies.
